La Chiesina Marianna

La Chiesina is about 2 km far from Arcidosso. It's surrounded by a small wood and is is situated on a hill with a wonderful view. You can see Arcidosso, Monticello and Montelaterone ("mountain of bandits"). The house has been restructured with knowledge and feeling, following the ancient plans. The building is classified. When the owner bought it, it was only a ruin. The main building is divided into three houses. Each one has an own entry and privacy. Since the house is situated on a slope, it's on three levels. The terraces are located so that each one can stay undisturbed. On the side there is a small house, with an own garden.

La Chiesina is in an ideal position for wine and olive oil tasting, as it is near many of the most famous olive groves and vineyards: it is are 20 km from Villa Banfi, 30 from Montalcino, 50 from Montepulciano, 100 from the Chianti region, 120 from San Giminiano and 30 km from Montecucco. La Chiesina is a convenient starting point for trips to wonderful cities of artistic and historical interest and archaeological sites, such as the Etruscan excavations at Roselle near Grosseto, which is 60 km away; Siena is but 70 km away, Florence 120, Viterbo 90, Orvieto 80, Pisa 70 and Rome a mere 180 km.

Nature lovers can enjoy the varied landscape of Amiata Mountain, with its beech and chestnut woods, and the Tuscan seaside resorts of Marina di Grosseto, Castiglion della Pescaia, Riva del Sole, Le Rocchette, Punta Ala, Mount Argentario, Porto Ercole, Porto Santo Stefano and Orbetello, which are just an hour away. At Porto Santo Stefano, Castiglione della Pescaia and Piombino there are ferries for the Tuscan islands, Giglio and Elba.

The Amiata Fauna Park , just nearby, is an enchanting place for walks, as it is home to many species of animals and birds, which roam free but are protected.

Those who are particularly interested in the first Etruscan settlements in Tuscany (before the great Roman Empire), can visit the archaeological excavations at Roselle, the Etruscan tombs in Sorano, Sovana and Chiusi, and the various local museums of Etruscan artefacts.

The area abounds in beautiful spas, such as San Casciano dei Bagni, which is approx. 50 km away, Saturnia 30 km and the fascinating Bagni San Filippo, on the ancient via Cassia, approx 35 km. When you are on trips from La Chiesina, you will always be surrounded by the unique Tuscan countryside - ever-changing, from day to day, season to season. Itís up to you to capture these changes and enjoy their every aspect!

The houses are comfortably furnished. There is a washing machine, a dish washer, a TV and a vacuum cleaner. The rooms have a wood made ceiling and pavements in brick in the typical Tuscan style.

In every house there is an additional bed with sheets paying Ä80.

In the months July and August we present La Chiesina as one big villa for 17+6 persons: "La Chiesina intera". In other months you can rent the apartments seperately.


This house is independent from the other apartments. On the ground floor there is the living room, the kitchen, the bathroom with a shower and a double-bedded room. On the first floor there is another double bedded room, a single bedded room and another bathroom. There is a washing machine, a dishwasher, TV and fireplace; outdoors there is the grill.


This flat has its own little wood that its guests do not have to share with anybody else. The flat has everything you can imagine to spend a happy holiday: garden table with chairs, a B-B-Q with deck chairs and a swing for children. The flat can be reached from an external staircase. It has a large living room, with a fireplace, and a dining room next to it. The two rooms are separated by a brick arch wall. It has three bedrooms with double beds and two bathrooms. Only two bedrooms are rented, but, on request, also the third can be available by paying an extra Ä80,00 per person. From the dining room you can reach the tower room, built on top of the roof, which has a magnificent view on the countryside.


Valentina is situated on the ground floor. From a wide terrace, where the sun invites you to have breakfast you arrive to the living room with a fireplace, a corner where you can sit sit and a table. There is a wide kitchen, a double-bedded room, a room with two single beds and two bathrooms. From the kitchen and from both the bedrooms you arrive, through a French window, to the opposite side of the house where there is a green zone with garden furniture and a grill.


This house has in front of the main entry an arcade where you can eat or chat even with bad weather. Close to it there is a terrace, surrounded by flowerbeds; this terrace has deck chairs and garden furniture and of course also here there is a grill. In the spatious living room there is a beautiful corner where you can eat and in front of the fireplace you'll find comfortable armchairs which invite you to chat for hours. There are 2 double bedded rooms, two bathrooms and a kitchen. The houses Valentina and Davide are different only for their gardens.
